A Taste of Fancy Plants
Every night we offer a 5-Course ‘Taste of Fancy Plants’ experience for $55. Each month has a theme, with the option to 'choose your own adventure' with other menu selections to customize your experience. We offer cocktail and wine pairings as well.

Fancy Plants Kitchen is a dedicated team of professionals who are intent on creating ever greater experiences in the arena of plant based cooking, and is the creation of chef/owner Kevin Schuder.
Kevin grew up in the small village of Ephraim Wisconsin, and in 2005 decided to move to San Francisco to train in high end restaurants to be a vegan chef. Starting at Millennium Restaurant, he helped open 2 wine bars, worked at Waterbar, AQ, Izakaya Yuzuki, and with the venerable Amaryll Schwertener before staking out on his own again with his successful pop-up restaurant Veg388. He became the executive chef of a large vegan restaurant project, and won a San Francisco Iron Chef. In 2016 he moved to Chicago, started Fancy Plants Catering, in 2019 Fancy Plants Cafe, and now Fancy Plants Kitchen.

Akashi-Tai Junmai Tokubetsu
A lush, umami-rich sake that is on the drier side, perfect for complimenting our cheese plate and any mushroom dishes. This medium-bodied sake is 15% abv and comes by the glass (4 ounce pour) or in a 300 mL bottle, enough for 3 servings for one, or perfect for sharing. "Tokubetsu junmai ('special pure') is a special designation for high-quality sake, the indigenous and traditional rice wine that has become a strong symbol of Japan's national culture. Sake production throughout the country can be traced back to the 8th Century when it was produced as a sacred offering to the gods."
